Satisfied Guests

This is John and Norma, We have been lucky to have had them visit us twice. This is there cooking lesson. These are there kind comments on there stay. As listed on "Tripadvisor"

We have stayed with David,Noi and Pumpkin twice already and plan to visit again in November. We love their resort and enjoy spending time with them. David picked us up in Khon Kaen. We went up to the farm and foraging in the woods with Darwin. We were lucky enough to visit and have breakfast with the monk and the villagers. David took us to the Bang Fai rocket festival which was amazing. The three of us went on a road trip along the Mekong river, stopping along the way to visit interesting places and enjoyed great food until we ended up in Chaing Mai. David is a great tour guide. He and Noi have created a little haven away from the chaos that is touristy Thailand and we can't wait till our next visit.

We arrived at Thai House, over the new year period, after the most arduous drive of my life so far,(14hours) We were met by David and Noi, and given a cold beer, just what was needed! David speaks english (well almost, he is australian!) and Thai, which made myself and my girlfriend feel at ease. The lodge is in a tranquill setting far enough off the main road, but well signposted, of a traditional small Thai village. After the drink and a chat David showed us to our villa lodge, this was very well presented and in the traditional Thai style, but with well thought of modern conveniences..Although it was late we were offered a meal, i just wanted a shower and a sleep! The next day we were welcomed into Davids home for breakfast, where we met the rest of the family and the animals, this is not like a hotel in the traditional sense, straigh taway we felt more like we were visiting friends. It was my first trip to Thailand and david could not have been more helpfull, I was visiting my fiance's parents, so a bit daunting, David talked me through the Thai culture, over another couple of beers.. and he even came with me to act as interpreteur..(he didnt need to do that!!) On the following day i got myself lost, but a call to David soon had me right!Anyway our stay there was the most memorable of my life so far, it is a beautiful part of the country and the people are so friendly and helpfull. David an Noi have the perfect place to be if you want to see the real Thailand, the service they provide far exceeds exspectation, i now feel we have some new friends and we will be going back soon. So if you want a comfortable friendly place to stay in the best part of Thailand you just have to go to The Thai Lodge.. I would find it hard to be in anyway critical of this place because the service we recieved from David and Noi was exceptional,

It’s difficult to say what was the most memorable- the whole experience was great. We had a wonderful time at this village. It was a good blend of relaxation and excursion. The host couple, Noi and David are very warm people and made efforts to make this trip a memorable one for us. Our 19 month old had great company with the village kids and whatever else time he had, was taken up by the dogs, cat, monkey, hens, ducks, turkey, and turtle at the resort! We travelled in David's truck and the trip to the market was fun with many kids at the back. The visit to the village school was nice too.

Tranquil and beautiful setting in peaceful Thai countryside. David and Noy are perfect hosts that are only too willing to make your stay memorable, from preparing fabulous breakfasts and dinners to transporting you to their farmland to wander amongst the cows, dogs, cats and the cheekiest monkey you can imagine...all this is set against a backdrop of lush greenery and breathtaking mountainous scenery. Pre dinner chill out time in the pool is spent drinking in the aromas of Noy's delicious home cooked Thai food. Accommodation is comfortable, clean and well maintained. My daughter and grandson stayed there for two weeks with me and David and Noy were particularly welcoming to 2 year old Jake. I absolutely recommend this place!

News in December

It’s all go here at present. We are building the new roof extension to our house. It is looking good and should be finished mid January. We have also re-roofed the Cabana by the pool with new grass.

looks great. Next is the new Chalet. This will be styled along the lines of an old Ayutthaya home. It will also be furnished with Antique furniture similar to the exsisting "Chalet" Look for updates.

We now have a “Mrs. King Kong” her name is Nancy and I will post pictures of the happy couple as soon as they come out of our Closet. (No kidding) Kong is delighted with his new bride although she doesn’t seem so enchanted be his constant groping.

We have just said goodbye to the Oested Family, Lars, Anne and the three beautiful children. Thank you for your visit. We enjoyed your stay very much and look forward to the next.  It was an interesting “Dinosaur Tour”. This time we went to see the Dino Footprints in “Phu Faek” national park, followed by lunch at the “Prawn Farm” and finishing with a visit to “Jurassic Park” (the Dinosaur Museum).   A busy day.

Noi and I take this opportunity to wish you a prosperous New Year. I will keep you posted with updates and news.

A busy month, lots happening here. The rice has turned to gold and late in the month we harvested it. We planted Jasmine rice on our farm and sticky rice on the Family farm. This means that now we can serve both types to our Guests. The jasmine rice is also organically grown and just tastes and smells wonderful.

As always we have had great guests this month. So much fun and nice memories. We have also had some new ideas to make future visits more comfortable. A special thanks to you Sjaak, for your idea to add a lounge area near the Pool and Bar area. People are already using the shaded spot to relax with a beer or wine and a good book, or as Louisa and Wilemina from Holland did, to play cards in the evening. Thanks also to Claus and Cha for helping me scout the "Phu Faek national park" to develop a new Trekking Tour. A big thanks to Jill and Peter from England, I had the best laugh for twenty years over some little joke with Jill, thanks for giving us your company and a few nice beers of an Evening. Dick and Tineka from Holland came with me on a local trek and helped me develop this Tour even more interesting. We also had some very relaxed evenings around the "Monkey Bar". Thankyou, Jennifer and Bob for your visit. I hope you enjoyed your visit as much as I did. We had some nice days and shared some great meals. Also  Wim and Yoneka. Your company was appreciated by Noi and I and we look forward to another visit if you can make it. December also looks busy and of course we are looking forward to our Christmas BBQ.

Can we help in some way.

Our friend and prior guest Gerhard has introduced us to Atle Bratteli

He has brought to our attention the need for help of 104 children all with HIV at an orphange located in Yasathon Isaan. Please take time to view the website. Maybe you could help by adding a link to your own homepage.

Tours Development

"Thai House" really wants our Guests and Friends to experience a unique holiday when visiting us. It is with this in mind that we continue to develop and improve on our tours. It is fun for Noi and I to discover new venues and sites to show our Guests. We now have a better understanding of the richness that Isaan has in Dinosaur Fossils. We have added more to this fun tour and now include Wat Nimit, a truly amazing Temple located only 5 minutes from the Dinosaur Museum. Here are some pictures taken on tour. For further information please send me a message from this site or email me.

The Dinosaur Footprint. This amazing find is located at "Phu faek" national park, only 35 minutes from "Thai House" It is part of our "Walk with the Dinosaurs" tour
