Welcome! to "Thai House-Isaan"

AtThai House-Isaan-Guesthouse your day starts when the cock crows. Ease yourself out of bed and experience the relaxing atmosphere of a unique 'Phu Thai Village'.

After a hearty English or Isaan style breakfast you can take a stroll around the village and take in the warm hospitality and culture of our local people.

'Thai House-Isaan-guesthouse' offers an alternative holiday to the regular tourist haunts in South Thailand. This is real Thailand. We are also careful to leave no negative footprint on Isaan. We are "ECO FRIENDLY"

We offer "Bed and Breakfast accommodation" at a "Home Stay" Style Guesthouse. The main building is an authentic "Galae Baan" (Original North Eastern style palace) but has all the western facilities to make your stay very comfortable.

At "Thai House Isaan" b&b, we serve meals all day. You can choose from a menu of Western Food including Succulent Steaks, Cottage Pie, Irish Stew and Bangers 'n' Mash. Or, you may prefer to eat Isaan Thai style. Whatever your taste is, Im sure we can serve it to you.

You will always remember the contagious smiles of our villagers. There is always something happening to keep you laughing.

If you want, we can show you the many attractions that abound in the Province. Or, you can hire your own transport and explore the area at your own pace. We also hire Push Bikes for local exploring or for the more adventurous we hire out your own "Mini Chopper" for the day.

Take a look at the "Our Tours" pages, for some of the guided tours offered.

Learn to "cook Isaan Thai cuisine" with Noi. Or visit the many handicraft villages in the vicinity.

our environment policy

"Thai House-Isaan guesthouse" is environmentally friendly. We use only organically grown herbs, vegetables and rice. Most herbs are from our garden and help create a beautiful landscape. Lemongrass, basel, chillies all look wonderfull. We try to buy all produce locally and use villagers to build and maintain the guesthouse. In this way we help the local economy. Rain water is run off the roofs and collected in large water pots, then treated through filters and used as drinking water. We encourage the use of bidets in all toilets, this helps reduce waste and the use of paper. We also recycle our rubbish, the staff seperate waste for re cycleling. The money from the re-cycle companies is given to the staff to encourage there participation. We are careful to leave no negative footprint on our local environment and village life, in fact we encourage the retainment of their unique culture by culture shows (dancing and singing) and the sale of local handicrafts.

Tours Development

"Thai House" really wants our Guests and Friends to experience a unique holiday when visiting us. It is with this in mind that we continue to develop and improve on our tours. It is fun for Noi and I to discover new venues and sites to show our Guests. We now have a better understanding of the richness that Isaan has in Dinosaur Fossils. We have added more to this fun tour and now include Wat Nimit, a truly amazing Temple located only 5 minutes from the Dinosaur Museum. Here are some pictures taken on tour. For further information please send me a message from this site or email me.

The Dinosaur Footprint. This amazing find is located at "Phu faek" national park, only 35 minutes from "Thai House" It is part of our "Walk with the Dinosaurs" tour

This month we also discovered a new Temple near the Dinosaur Museum. It is very unusual with many timber and Sandstone carving. I will put new pictures up soon.

News in December

It’s all go here at present. We are building the new roof extension to our house. It is looking good and should be finished mid January. We have also re-roofed the Cabana by the pool with new grass.

looks great. Next is the new Chalet. This will be styled along the lines of an old Ayutthaya home. It will also be furnished with Antique furniture similar to the exsisting "Chalet" Look for updates.

We now have a “Mrs. King Kong” her name is Nancy and I will post pictures of the happy couple as soon as they come out of our Closet. (No kidding) Kong is delighted with his new bride although she doesn’t seem so enchanted be his constant groping.

We have just said goodbye to the Oested Family, Lars, Anne and the three beautiful children. Thank you for your visit. We enjoyed your stay very much and look forward to the next.  It was an interesting “Dinosaur Tour”. This time we went to see the Dino Footprints in “Phu Faek” national park, followed by lunch at the “Prawn Farm” and finishing with a visit to “Jurassic Park” (the Dinosaur Museum).   A busy day.

Noi and I take this opportunity to wish you a prosperous New Year. I will keep you posted with updates and news.

Can we help in some way.

Our friend and prior guest Gerhard has introduced us to Atle Bratteli

He has brought to our attention the need for help of 104 children all with HIV at an orphange located in Yasathon Isaan. Please take time to view the website. Maybe you could help by adding a link to your own homepage.
